Where is parking located for the symposium?
For individuals staying at the conference hotel (Loews Vanderbilt), their room keys double as parking garage access keys. Symposium attendees not staying at the hotel can purchase a parking access card ($49 plus taxes per day for self-parking, $54 plus taxes per day for valet). Accessible parking spots can be arranged free of charge (call the hotel directly at 1-800-235-6927 to request).
What are transportation options near the venue?
- Nashville’s public transit system is called WeGo. The #3 West End bus runs roughly every 15 minutes between the hotel area and downtown, from about 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday-Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
- Lyft, Uber, taxis, and other rideshare/ridehail services are available in Nashville. The Nashville airport, which is approximately twelve miles (typically twenty minutes) east of the conference venue, lists a number of options on its ground transportation page.
- The hotel has a complimentary house car that can fit up to six people and will take guests anywhere within a three-mile radius. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis; the service does not accept reservations. The hotel does not have an airport shuttle service.
- Please allow ample time to reach your destination. Construction, traffic congestion, and other variables may affect the timing and duration of your trip.
What services or accommodations can the venue provide for individuals with disabilities?
Per the venue’s accessibility statement, it makes “reasonable modifications to our policies, practices, and procedures, and provide auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities where necessary to access our hotels.” To request assistance, call Loews Hotels at 1-800-235-6397.
Participation
I want to add a short course or banquet ticket to my registration. How do I do that?
Log in to your symposium account (via the “Log in” link in the top right corner) and choose the “Payments” option (clicking the “Make a Payment” button) to add these items.
What's covered in a banquet ticket?
The banquet will feature a meal, a speech by Dr. Mingyao Li, and the presentation of student paper and poster awards.
The banquet typically sells out, so we do not anticipate being able to provide tickets at the door. Please purchase your banquet ticket when you register (or update your registration, per the previous question) to ensure your spot!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I (or a speaker scheduled for my session) cannot present in person. May I present my talk virtually?
Unfortunately, the symposium is not able to offer hybrid or virtual presentations. Please work with your session chair to arrange for a substitute presenter and/or replacement talk. Please also notify the symposium organizers right away about the issue so that we can plan and adjust for it accordingly.
What is the symposium code of conduct?

Will recordings and/or slides be made available?
These may be produced and/or shared at the discretion of individual presenters. The symposium is not circulating or archiving these materials.
How do I get more attention for my presentation, my notes, my photos, etc.? How do I find what other people are posting about it?

Does the venue have public wi-fi?
Loews Vanderbilt offers free wireless access to the Internet, and charging stations are available in many common areas, including the lobby and some dining areas (including Mason’s and Mason’s Bar)..
Documentation
My administrator/supervisor requires a special invoice or receipt. How do I obtain that?
